I put a camera up the flue so we both know what's actually going on in there before anything else happens.

We'll have a word before I start so I know what you've got and what you've noticed.

Sheets down
Dust sheets go over everything before any kit comes out. Your house gets treated like mine.

Inspection
I check the fireplace and the immediate area, then clean it up ready to work.

Camera, then sweep
The camera goes up the flue so we can see the state of it, then I carry out a thorough sweep.

Who's coming to your house
I spent ten years in the Army. When I came home I wanted a trade of my own, so I spent six months retraining as a professional chimney sweep and picked up my City & Guilds Level 1 in Basic Construction along the way.
I'm fully qualified, certified and insured, and I'm an insurance-approved sweep, so the certificate I give you is one your insurer will accept.
It's a new business and I'm building it the way I'd want someone to treat my own house — turn up when I say I will, do the job properly, and leave it cleaner than I found it.

Book a sweepCommon questions
How often should a chimney be swept?
It depends what you're burning. Wood and multi-fuel are generally more often than smokeless. Give me a ring and tell me what you've got and I'll tell you straight.
Will it make a mess?
No. Sheets go down before anything else, and everything gets hoovered before I leave. That's the part I'm fussiest about.
Do I get a certificate?
Yes, before I leave. It's what your home insurance will ask for if you ever need to claim.
Why the camera?
Because you can't fix what you can't see. The flue inspection shows us the actual condition of the flue rather than guessing at it.
Are you insured?
Yes — fully insured and insurance approved.
How far do you travel?
Haverhill and the villages around it. Ring me and I'll tell you if you're in range.
